I finally got a chance in the middle or train chaos last night to watch The OceanMaker short by Lucas Martell.
If you haven't had a chance to watch this excellent short which has been doing the festivals including SXSW, it has now been made free to view.
It is well worth the 10 minutes as it is an exceptional and exciting piece of storytelling which uses no dialogue, instead Martell uses the score, audio FX and excellent camera work to tell the narrative.
Martell used a variety of crowd funding and other sources to make his film, which was held made from the tiny island of Caye Caulker in the Caribbean.
If you want to find out more about this brilliant piece, there is a great fxguide article documenting the XSI and Maya pipeline, and the production company Mighty Coconut has a series of Production Videos on Youtube.
