It feels like every week somebody inspiring, talented and who has offered so much passes away. It's a sad fact but one that isn't likely to change but, unlike the vast majority of us who only get to affect a few close to us, others leave a legacy. Andrew Lesnie is one such man.
Lesnie, who passes aged just 59, leaves us with a staggering collection of works which have been part of some of recent cinema's biggest moments.
Oscar winner, Lesnie is famed for his collaborations with Peter Jackson, Lesnie contributed to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong, the Lovely bones and most recently as cinematographer on The Water Diviner, Russel Crowe's first foray into directing.
Many industry notables have taken to social media to pay their respects and recognise his talents. We would like to add ours, for one of the best cinematographers there has been.
